Tech Studies

Technology Studies has a strong focus on Woodwork and student led designs. Students will participate in a skills-based project where they learn all the necessary skills needed in carpentry, then the focus shifts towards the design process where students can design a project in line with their own passions.

In recent years, students have ranged between making small detailed projects like chopping boards and intricate photo frames, to large scale projects like a bed, outdoor entertainment system and even a mini golf course.

Karoonda Area School has recently started offering metal fabrication, allowing students more opportunity to develop skills for their future career paths. The safe and spacious Tech room provides a perfect platform for learning and growing, where students will turn a design in their head, into a physical creation.
